USING EBAY AS AN ALTERNATIVE SALES OUTLET

Studio Zuse is one of many small companies looking to large traffic sites for a boost in sales. The R&D team at Studio Zuse has concluded that giant online auction site eBay, and their existing high traffic, can be used to the advantage of their company.

They officially announced today the opening of an eBay store to resell and distribute DVDs and other multimedia, amid buzz surrounding this future move.

“Initially we wanted to keep it simple, and sell exclusively on our site,” explained Tom Mott, creative director at Studio Zuse. He detailed how this perspective shifted as the benefits of also selling on eBay became apparent. “We looked at eBay’s popularity and marketing, and we said to ourselves ‘We could have that, too.’ “
With the fourth quarter rapidly approaching, Studio Zuse hopes to also use holiday internet shopping to their advantage.

Co-creative director Christina Diaz was enthusiastic about internet shopping and its effect on fourth quarter reports. Her thoughts:

“What we noticed last year was the role the internet played in the typical holiday experience. All over the news – everywhere – it was shocking how internet shopping has really taking shape and becoming key to consumers. Shoppers now ask, ‘Can I get this online for a better deal?’ or ‘Is it easier to buy online and have it shipped by the online retailer?' " She added how rising gas prices and the economic crunch was sure to influence shopped as well.

There was no comment from the company when asked if the new eBay store will change the direction of their online Store Zuse. They maintain that the eBay store is only an addition, and will not effect Store Zuse. However, they did say that they will promote the eBay store at their current store through eBay widgets.
